Challenges in acquiring English Language

English Language has being treated as an international language as English has become the world's most widely spoken language. With more than 350 million people around the world speaking English as their first language while more than 430 million of people speak English as their second language. That the reason why English is known as an important language so all of us need to be fluent in speaking English so that it will make us more convenient when it come to speaking.Unfortunately, nowadays most of the students face various difficulties and challenges in acquiring English Language. So do I. Let me share with you the problems that i usually face in acquiring English language.

One of the challenges that I face in acquiring English is grammar. To me learning grammar is like learn how to drive which we need to learn all the theory and rules as grammar is very complex  plus, sometimes it will also cause a person hard to understand and master.Besides, incorrect use of grammar will eventually change the meaning of what we are trying to say .That why I often faced problem when it come to writing an essay and communicate with others where I tend to make lots of grammatical errors.

Next is poor pronunciation. It is hard for me to pronoun a word that I unfamiliar to as I could not guess the pronunciation just by looking at the spelling. For example 'KNIGHT', for those who are unfamiliar with this word or has poor pronunciation like me will tend to pronoun it with the alphabet 'K' BUT actually it is pronoun as 'NIGHT' with silence 'K'.

Besides that, vocabulary is also one of the challenges that I faced. Vocabulary often a challenge or obstacle to me.Vocabulary consist of lots of verb variation and vocabulary always make a learner hard to understand which tense should be used in various situation. When it come to writing an essay, our vocabulary is very important in order for us to score high mark for our essay. But it vocabulary that always pull my mark down.*sigh*

Furthermore lack of confident.I always have  low self-confidence when communicate English with my friends. Almost all of my friends are good in speaking English, sometimes it make me fell embarrass when I  talk to them with my poor English.

Then I does not has the ability to understand or comprehend new words. It really hard for me to comprehend or understand the meaning of the words that I just learnt. Next, I usually reply in my mother tongue first and form a reply in translating. As for me I  tend to translate a sentence from Chinese to English.

Besides that, I does not use to speak English  with each other. Chinese is my daily communication language so I often speak Chinese with my friends and family.Next is I lack of reading magazine, novel and newspaper. I am the type of person that quickly find bore when reading a novel. Through this 18 years, I can count with my fingers how many novels or storybooks that i manage to finish.

Moreover, there also lots of meaning for the phrasal verb which make me confused. Lastly, there are lots of slang used in English which also make me confuse and hardly to understand.

That all from me.Till we meet again.

When I first enter TATI University College, I felt like everything seem new to me. Even staying in hostel is also new to me and I could not really adapt with the hostel life but I will try my best since I will be away from home for the next 5 years.Through this 4 months staying in TATI University College, I tend to be more comfortable and able to cope with the hostel life. Thanks to my friends and my parents for giving me some advice and asking me to be more patient when facing difficulty.

Through this 4 months, lots of memories have been created. To me the most memorable experience is the raya celebration where our faculty won the first price in the booth decoration competition. Besides, it was a great experience to me for having the opportunities to celebrate raya with different races.

Since I was 13 years old my ambition is to become a orthodontist but when i was 4 years old I hate dentist so much and I even swear that I would abstract all the dentist's teeth. However the more I hate the more I found it interesting . Besides i also want  to help those who are facing improper arrangement of teeth which cause them could not close their mouth properly and they also unable to chew the food effectively. To be honest, there also another reason why I want to be an orthodontist is because of the high payment. In order for me to achieve my goal , i need to work harder and not to give up easily. Actually I quite slow in understanding a question that I not able to solve. So I need to be more hardworking than the others.

I  glad that I have lots of friends who are very kind, friendly and helpful. They will always helps me whenever I face problem especially when I could not understand some question in a particular subject. All the lecturer in TATI University College are helpful too. They will try their best to help us to understand the subject they are teaching in order for us to obtain a good result in our final examination.
