I Got That A Lot

Happy Chinese New Year, everyone! How have you been? It been a while since I last wrote journal.

First of all in your entire existence in this world, does any special statement that you always get when you meet someone. I bet all of you have.

" WHY YOUR HAIR LOOKS SO CURLY! WHO DID YOU GET IT FROM? "
Basically, this is the most common question that I got the most. I was born with a curly hair. It is a rare trait among the chinese community. Whenever I met my relatives or someone that I knows, they always tend to ask the same question over and over again. I am so annoy with that question, sometimes I will just smile at them without replying. I still remember when I was 6 years old, there were some of my classmates liked to tease me by saying that my hair looks like instant noodle without thinking about others feeling. I am so disappointed with their behavior.  Personally I does not satisfy with the hair that I got but what to do. All I can to do is just pray for the best and accept the fact with an open heart.

Next, whenever I attended a wedding reception there always someone asking me " WHY DID'T YOU WEAR A DRESS ? As a girl you should always wear a dress when attending a wedding reception or dinner." This is the question that I got a lot when attending a wedding dinner. I always told them that I have no dress and sometimes I told them that dress is too expensive, I have not enough money to buy it. To be honest, I hate wearing dress since I was small. To me, wearing a dress is so inconvenient, you will not be able to run when you wearing dress.

" YOU TWO ARE TWINS ?!" This is also one of the thing that I got a lot. People always tend to think that my sister and I are not twins because our face and body are totally different from each others. They will not realise that we are twins until we told them how old we are. Both of us are fraternal twins.  After knowing that we are twins, they will asked how come both of us different from each others and I need to explain over and over again, keep repeating the same answer.

Lastly, I always misjudged by people. My friends often think that I am a quiet and antisocial person. In fact, I am quite a talkative person. Most of my friends shocked after seeing my true colour. Actually I am the person that is quiet in front of the people who I am not familiar with but when it comes to friend or relative which I am closed to I will talk non stop.

Making Judgement

Happy New Year guys. In 2016, may all of you have a happy and  prosperous  year ahead. In this entry I going to share with all of you about making judgement.

Have you ever make a judgement toward person. I bet everyone of you did it before. Well, we often judge a person without realizing it. People usually judge a person by their appearance, behavior action or perhaps body language. Most of the people do not notice their own mistakes, instead they strive to find or point out someone's mistakes. There also some of them enjoys judging other because it help them to boost their self-esteem and feel better about themselves. But actually we do not have the right to judge a person.

Not to lie sometimes I also making judgement toward others. I can still remember when I first met my friend and I thought she was an arrogant person. I felt so scare to talk and make fun with her. But after a few months passed, I found that she is a friendly and kind person. I was ashamed of myself and remorse for my wrongdoing.
Dr John A. King Wisdom and Insight from a lifetime of leadership www.drjohnaking.com: Judgement Quote, Judgemental People Quote, Quotes, Understanding Quote, Life Quote, Judge Quote, Personality Quote, Compassion Quote

Before judging someone, make sure that you know all the facts about this person. Maybe you don´t know the whole story, you don’t know their problems and worries. It is very important to hold off until you know all facts. Instead of judging, try to help them or leave them alone.

It’s crucial to understand that no one is perfect and we all make mistakes every now and then. Before criticizing someone’s actions, make sure those actions are really bad. Maybe they have some reasons to do what they want to do. So from now on stop making judgement towards the others. Be a wise person and learn on how to respect other people. Because if we judge a person and try to make their lives miserable, in the end it will end up ruining our own lives.

Before I end, there is a short story based on making judgement that I would like to share with all of you. Enjoy.

Martin is an orphan. He lost his mother when he was 13. His mother passed away due to leukemia. Martin currently lives in New York along with his father, Mr Wood.

On a heavy rainy day, Martin involved in a fatal accident. Mr Wood waiting for a doctor to save his son's life. His son was in critical condition and needed an immediate medical care. Soon amidst the crowd he saw a doctor running towards the ICU where his son was lying.

Waiting for the doctor made him so angry and he yelled, “What took you so much time to come and save my son’s life? You are a doctor and you should know that your sole purpose is to save your patient’s life. Don’t you have any sense of responsibility for your profession?”

The doctor calmly replied, I apologize, I was not in the hospital. I came running after receiving the call regarding your son. I request you to calm down so that I can do my work.”

The doctor smiled and replied,  Do your duty, without expecting results”. As a doctor I will try my best to save your son’s life and I would request you to pray.
“Giving advises in in a critical situation like this is very easy”, murmured the Mr Wood.

The surgery took some hours, after which the doctor came out and informed Mr Wood that his son was now out of danger.

Without waiting for the Mr Wood’s reply he carried on his way running. “If you have any questions, please ask the nurse”, said the doctor.

“Why is he so arrogant? He could have waited for some minutes so that I could inquire about my son’s state”, said Mr Wood to the nurse.

With a heavy heart the nurse told him, “His son died last night in a road accident. he was at the burial when he got a call for your son’s surgery. And now, since he saved your son’s life, he went running to finish his dear son’s burial.”

Mr Wood was ashamed for all his harsh words to the doctor and making a wrong judgement without knowing what the doctor  was going through. He wished for the doctor’s son’s soul to rest in peace and went to meet his son in the ICU.

A movie based on true story that inspired me

I never met my grandfather, he died when I was just a little baby. But when I hear about him and Hachi, I feel like I know him. They taught me the meaning of loyalty. That you should never forget anyone that you loved. And that's why Hachi will forever be my hero." said by the 11 year old Ronnie. Adapted from the movie 'Hachiko: A Dog's Tale".

Have you ever came across any inspiring true story turned movie? If its a 'No.' then its time for me to introduce one of the most inspiring true story on earth - 'Hachiko: A Dog's Tale'. No worries mate, its an English movie.

But first, have you guys ever heard of Hachiko - the most loyal dog in history? No? Neither had I until  a few years ago maybe 5 years ago if I am not mistaken. But if you ever travel to Japan then odds will you will heard about him. Hachiko is a national hero to the Japanese. He has his own statue next to Shibuya Train Station in Tokyo, where every day hundred of people taken photograph with him. A dog so famous there have been several movies made about him even Hollywood had made a movie about Hachiko.

I think you should at least know what the story is all about before I start.Years earlier, a puppy is sent from Japan to the United States, but escapes when his cage falls at an American train station. Professor Parker Wilson finds the dog. Parker takes it home with the intention of returning the animal to its owner. His wife, Cate Parker does not want them to keep the puppy. Later that night, Parker learn that the dog is an Akita. Parker takes him to work where Ken, a Japanese professor transliterate the symbol on the collar where Hachi is known as number 8 in Japanese signifying good fortune. Parker decide to call the dog as Hachiko. Parker mystified by Hachi's refusal to dog lik activities like chase and fetch.

Until one morning where Parker leave for work and Hachi follow him to the train station, he refuse to leave until Parker walk him home. Later in afternoon, Hachi walks to the train station, waiting patiently for Parker to come home. Parker relents and walks Hachi to the station every morning. After Parker depart Hachi walks home, returning in the afternoon to see his master's train arrive and go home together. They continue to do this everyday.

One day Praker get ready to leave and Hachi barks at him and refuse to join him. When Parker does leave, Hachi chase him by holding his ball. Parker is suprised  but pleased that Hachi finally willing to play fetch with him. Later that day Parker is teaching, still holding Hachi's ball , when he sunddenly suffer a heart attack and dies.

He remains, lying in the snow for several hours until Parker's son in law Micheal comes to collect him. The next day, Hachi returns to the train station and waits. As time passes, Cate sells the house and Hachi is sent to live with her daughter. However , at the first opportunity Hachi escape and find his way back to the train station where he sit at his usual spot.
Hachi waits for his owner everyday, while sleeping in the rail yard at the night. Hachi loyalty is profiled in the local newspaper and after seing the article Ken visit Hachi and offer money to Jasjeet , a hot dog vendor who used to give Professor Parker his coffee for any expenses for the dog but Jasjeet declines it by saying everyone in the station will taking care of Hachi.

Cate comes back to visit Parker's grave on the tenth anniversary of his death where she meets Ken. Walking past the train station, she is stunned to see Hachi maintaining his vigil.Overcome with grief, Cate sits and waits for the next train with Hachi. Hachi continue to walks to the same spot in front of the rain station to the final day where he recollect his life with his master. He then imagines Parker coming out from the station and the two greeting each others. But it was Hachi dying and reunite with his beloved master in heaven. Hachi is laste seen lying on the snow alone and still.

This movie is a beautiful testimony to loyalty and love. Lets start with loyalty. Every day, for nearly ten years, Hachi went to the train station and sat on the same spot as he always did waiting patiently for his beloved master, Professor Parker. He will wait until the station closed. I often think, would a human have done this for anyone else? We all have the tendency to be a bit selfish in our life. Come on it human nature. It is also human nature to move on. But Hachiko know that something was not right. Yet day after day, he waited for his master to come home. Akitas are known to sometimes be indifferent, to do their own thing, to not have the pack mentality.  Yet, this dog thought of nothing but waiting for his master even he never showed up, Hachi still continued waiting. How many of us would have give up? How many of us would have become angry - WHERE IS HE? I think that Hachiko believe that his master will return one day it the reason why he continue waiting for hhis master. The loyalty showed by Hachiko has moved me as well as the others to tears.

Lastly, love.  When Professor Parker's wife,Cate received a phone call from someone wishing to adopt Hachiko but having seen how close her husband is with Hachiko, lastly she declines. This have shown that between Professor Parker and Hachiko is inseparable. This has taught me what unconditionally love really is and the strong bond that can be build between  humans and animals. Besides that, it also taught me that how wrong are human to think that animals are stupid, a simple creature that does not understand what are human talking about and  here for their entertainment. As you can see how strong is the bond between Professor Parker and Hachiko till Hachiko willing to wait for Professor Parker for 10 years. Could you just imagine that?

Hachi: A Dog's Tale really inspired me and changed my life. May Hachiko's story keep inspired people around the world and also remind us to show humanity to all living creatures. I really hoped that everyone of us acted in the manner that Hachiko have.

May your soul rest in peace, Hachiko.
